Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 July 2026

Proov (“Proov”, “we”, “us”) is a platform where builders in India solve real prompts, get judged on merit, and keep a permanent public builder profile. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately short and honest. By using Proov you agree to this policy.

Who we are

Proov is an early-stage product operated from India. For any privacy question, data request, or grievance, contact us at help_proov@mesaschool.co. We act as the data fiduciary for the personal data described below.

Data we collect

We collect only what the platform needs to work:

  • Account & identity. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We generate a public username and assign you a default avatar.
  • Profile you add. An optional headline, bio, profile photo you upload, and (if you choose to verify it) your LinkedIn profile link.
  • Your work. The challenges you enrol in and the submissions you make: titles, descriptions, links, screenshots, demo videos, and any co-authors you name.
  • Activity. Reactions you give, and a record of which challenges you (when signed in) have viewed, used only for organiser analytics.
  • Technical basics. Standard server logs and a privacy-friendly, cookie-light measure of site traffic. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, only the essential cookie that keeps you signed in.

What is public

Proov is built around a public builder profile. Your name, username, avatar, headline/bio, your submissions, your reactions’ effect on scores, your points, wins, and your position on the leaderboard are visible to anyone, including people who are not signed in and search engines. Your email address, Google identifier, and server logs are never shown publicly. While a challenge is live, submissions and enrolments stay hidden until judging opens.

How we use your data

  • To run the platform: accounts, enrolments, submissions, judging, reactions, and your public profile.
  • To compute your points, wins, and leaderboard position at read time.
  • To send you transactional and product emails (welcome, enrolment, deadline reminders, results, and an occasional digest of live challenges).
  • To keep Proov secure, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not run advertising. Proov is free, and builders own everything they build (see our Terms).

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that run Proov, each acting as our processor under contract:

  • Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage.
  • Vercel: application hosting and delivery.
  • Resend: sending our emails.
  • Google (and, if you use it, LinkedIn): sign-in and identity verification.

These providers may process and store data on servers outside India. We may also disclose data if required by law. We never share your personal data with recruiters or companies beyond what is already on your public profile.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Because your builder profile is designed to be a permanent, public record of your work, submissions remain visible unless you delete your account or ask us to remove specific content. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and debugging.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and you can withdraw consent. Some of this you can do yourself (edit your profile, upload a new avatar). For account deletion or any other request, email help_proov@mesaschool.co and we will act on it within a reasonable time. To stop non-essential emails, contact us; closing your account stops all of them.

Children

Proov is intended for users aged 18 and over, or 16 and over with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy as Proov evolves. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the product or by email. Continuing to use Proov after a change means you accept the updated policy.
